Each year hundreds of thousands of people come each year for the Rose of Tralee International Festival and we have taken a look at some hidden Gems that you wouldn’t want to miss for this years festival.

Fossets Circus

This is always a family treat and even I can remember getting to go to it in the big top. With all types of entertainment it really is a family day out.

Family Town

Parade, Parade, Parade….

Over the course of the featival the town is delighted to host not 1, not 2 but 3 parades which creates a great carnival atmosphere. On Saturday night we have the main festival parade with a day time version following on the Sunday for the smallies and then Midnight Madness where the 2017 Rose of Tralee kicks off the fireworks from the town centre!

Daithi O’Sé

Catching the Kerry local out an about in his local county is a rare sight but you know its Rose of Tralee season when you see him getting all tuxed up for the trip back to the kingdom!

He’s pulled it off and you can find more about his Rose of Tralee Prep in the latest RSVP Magazine

Birds Amusements

Its not Rose of Tralee Season without the Birds Amusements, their mix of funfair attractions bring kids and big kids from all around to test there metal on some of their rides.

THE DOME

Finally the dome, what can we say, it might not actually be a dome but it has been at the heart of Rose of Tralee activities for the last 58 years. It may have moved location a few times but it remains the center of things with the two RTE selection nights taking place here plus a whole lot more!

Oh Wow! The The Rose Of Tralee Festival Dome starcloth looks absolutely amazing! #RoseofTralee

Each month of the year has a specific birthstone. The November birthstone is the beautiful topaz gem available in blue or yellow. More commonly a bright blue colour, the gem brings a calming effect to its wearers. Here’s all you need to know about your November gem and why to have it in your jewellery.

A Symbol of Love

Topaz makes a great jewellery gift because of the symbol of love. This isn’t just about romantic love, but about family and friendship love, too. It doesn’t just have to be the more traditionally thought of blue, either. There are topaz gems in pink, red, green, yellow, brown, and even violet. Yes, you can even get colourless gems, but these are often heated to create the blue look.

It’s a Gem of Royalty

Orange and pink topaz gems have deep roots in royalty. The Tsars of Russia traditionally wore the birthstone to mark their position. The orange and pink hues are actually named the Imperial Topaz because of the Russian royalty link.

White topaz has also been worn by Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Her earrings worn during her engagement to Prince William looked like diamond, but they were the gem of royalty.

Bestow Strength and Intelligence

There is the belief that those who wear this gem will receive more strength and intelligence. That strength doesn’t have to be physical. Many people feel more confident and have an inner strength to do everything that they need to.

It’s beautiful on its own in earrings and can also be added with diamonds into a wedding or engagement ring. You could even opt for a necklace or broach with topaz as a gift to symbolise your love for someone.
